About Haier Group
Haier was incorporated in 1984 only producing household refrigerators. Over the past 20 years, the company has witnessed significant prosperity and is now a transnational organization widely recognized in the world community. Haier currently manufactures a wide range of household electrical appliances, 15,100 varieties of items in 96 product lines, and exports products to more than 100 countries.
Haier's international promotion framework encompasses global networks for design, procurement, production, distribution and after-sales services. Haier has established 15 manufacture complexes, 30 overseas production factories, 8 design centers and 58,800 sales agents worldwide.
Over the past 20 years, Haier provided more than 100 million appliances to worldwide consumers and paid cumulatively a total tax of RMB13.6 billion, of which RMB2 billion in 2004, RMB5.5 million per day on average.

About Haier Pakistan
Haier was incorporated in 1984 producing household refrigerators and over the past 18 years, has grown and prospered as a transnational company widely recognized in the world community. Haier now manufactures a wide range of house electrical appliances in 86 categories with 13,000 specifications and exports products to more than 160 countries. Haier’s international promotion framework encompasses globalized trading, design, production, distribution and after-sales service network. Haier foot print stretches to over 36,000 sales points as well as electrical appliances factories setup in America, Pakistan, Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia and Yugoslavia- to name some of the markets. In the European market, especially in Greece and France, Haier air-conditioners dominate the local markets as is the case with Chile, where Haier’s washing machines and air-conditioners are very popular. Haier’s small size refrigerators currently have 20% of the refrigerator market in USA. Haier has established multilateral cooperation relations with many international rivals. On January 8 and February 20, 2002, Haier signed an agreement of joint investment with Sanyo and SAMPO for win-win development and benefits with respective advantages and resources. Haier has been developing CFC-Free technology and Industrial Waste Treatment systems, so that in addition to providing excellent value for money there is a simultaneous improvement in the quality of life. The joint venture between Ruba Group and Haier Group of China, brings Haier into Pakistan for the first time. As the 5th largest producer of home appliances in the world, Haier brings its global expertise to work for Pakistan market. Alongside the vast range of Haier products that include refrigerators, air-conditioners, deep freezers and washing machines, dish washers, vacuum cleaners, television sets, mobile phones etc.
Haier is now widely recognized in the world. From the latest statistics of Euro-monitor, Haier was placed fifth for the global white goods manufacturers with the largest world market share for refrigerators*. In the list of the most respected companies in Asia and Pacific Region published by the Far Eastern Economic Review issue December 26, 2002, Haier was placed first. Haier production and management system restructuring has enabled Haier to diversify internal and external resources. At present, Haier has put its worldwide logistics, distribution and manufacturing facilities into efficient operation for customer demand satisfaction. Haier’s goal is to obtain worldwide recognition and to become one of Fortune Global 500.
Haier Pakistan is the Pakistan Sales & Marketing division of the international Haier Group, a globally recognized manufacturer of world-class electrical home appliances. The joint venture between Ruba General Trading Company and Haier Group of China has brought Haier to Pakistan with an initial investment of about US$35 million and a commitment to provide world-class innovative products based on uncompromising quality to the Pakistani consumer. The plant spreads over a vast area of 63 acres with a covered area of 0.6 million square feet including a workers’ colony on Raiwind Road, Lahore. The project is expected to produce 0.9 million pieces of household appliances per year with plans to export to the Middle East and all over Asia. In the first year of its operations,Haier will generate employment opportunities to 600 individuals with potential to grow up to 1200 within the next 5 years. Furthermore, Haier will supplement income of 1000 to 1500 families providing indirect earning and employment possibilities. The roster of products to be launched immediately in Pakistan includes Refrigerators, Air-Conditioners (Window & Split), Deep Freezers and Washing Machines, Microwave Ovens and Small Appliances with Dishwashers, Vacuum Cleaners, Television Sets and Mobile Phones to follow shortly. Haier Products
Refrigerators
Haier is one of the world’s largest and most advanced refrigerator manufacturers, producing over 12 million units of refrigerators and freezers annually at its 20 production facilities worldwide. Haier consistently applies leading global technologies in the manufacturing of its products. Haier is the first company to make breakthroughs in integrating fluorine-free, energy-saving technologies with large freezing capacity,and solve technological problems related to sterilization. Haier has also rolled out the world’s first variable frequency refrigerator, which is made of heat insulating material designed for aerospace.
Household Air Conditioners
At its eight large production bases in China, Haier uses the
world’s most advanced automatic flexible production lines to
ensure the delivery of large quantities of highly reliable air
conditioners, which are exquisite in quality and free of defects.
Washing Machines
Haier produces washing machines of 5,000 different specifications under 18 categories, and is the only company in the world with the capability of large scale production of top load washing machines (popular in Asia), front load washing machines (popularin Europe), agitator washing machines (popular in America) anddual-drive washing machines. Haier, with a mission of “customer-oriented design”, pays great attention to safety, health, and the environmental concerns of consumers in designing its products.Haier has introduced a series of new hi-tech environmentally-friendly washing machines, staying ahead of the market trend and demonstrating the technological innovation capability of the company.
Freezers
Haier produces 1.8 million units of freezers each year. Haier is licensed to supply products for military provisions, and is the only company to win the bid for three consecutive years. Haier freezers have received ISO9001 quality, ISO14001 environmental compliance, and ISO12001 metering and testing certification. Haier is also China’s first freezer maker to receive TUV International Safety Certification, and was the first to receive anew-fluorine certificate from the United Nations Development Pro gramme.
Microwave Ovens
Haier offers microwave ovens in 50 varieties under 8 categories,including mechanical electronic and digital, and with the capacity range of 17-liters to 40–liters. Haier ovens feature both stainless steel and painted stoves, and come with top doors and side doors. Commercial Air Conditioners
Haier has become a well-known global brand for commercial air-conditioners for its strong R&D, excellent product performance,and marketing capability. Haier delivers commercial air conditioners, large mufti-system air conditioners and large cold-water air conditioning units in 8 categories and 260 specifications,featuring an integration of fluorine-cooling, wind-cooling and water-cooling functions. Conditioners, flexible variable-capacity screw compressors, and household variable-frequency central air conditioners lead the industry trend with their energy efficiency.

The SWOT analysis of Haier depicts their standard in the industry. So, their analysis is as follow:
STRENGTH:
The strength of Haier is their rand image and their brand has a good name in the market and
they created this image industrially and globally.
WEAKNESS
Weakness of Haier is them an pow e r. Their manpower is very low. But some other factors liketheir strength and opportunity make them less fearful. They can overcome their weakness by putting some more efforts and making their manpower strong and efficient.
OPPORTUNITY :
They have lot of opportunities. They are financially strong and their standard is also very high.
So, they are trying toexp and their business in Middle East and Russian states
THREAT :
The major threat of Haier is theirriv al s. They have a strong competition among their rivals
because their rivals are also strong in the market like Pel, Waves and Orient etc
But Haier is trying to face their threats effectively and they are trying to make their name
stronger in order to make their threats less fearful.
Value Chain
Primary Objectives:
1) Inbound Logistics:
Compressors, nuts, bolts and all other raw materials that are used in home appliances are
inbound logistics.
2) Operations:
About 90% of the raw material they import from different countries and assemble them in
their factories.
3)Out bound logistics:
They supply their products all over Pakistan.
4)Marketing and Sales:
They do marketing and sales through news papers, bill boards. Advertisements. On TV and
internet.
5)Services:
They provide good services by giving warranty on their products.
